DIRECTOR, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
As Stemedica's Director of Intellectual Property, Tim Brown participates in achieving patent protection for the Company's intellectual property and technology. He has had extensive experience in: drafting and managing patent applications and dockets related to stem cell and related technology through all the stages prosecution; researching and drafting opinions relating to patentability and freedom to operate; providing strategic guidance for patent portfolio development; assessing and negotiating in- licensing opportunities; preparation of discovery documentations; preparation of infringement complaints; drafting office actions; and managing outside intellectual consultants and advisors.
Mr. Brown is an attorney licensed to practice in the state of California and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has over has an MS in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University, an MBA from California Polytechnic State University and a JD from California Western School of Law. Before joining Stemedica, Mr. Brown worked for five years as a Patent Examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (Alexandria, Virginia) analyzing the patentability of medical diagnostics, antiviral therapies and commercial software.
