Richard Mejia is a 38 year veteran of Ernst & Young LLP, retiring in 2008.  Rich spent 25 of those years as an Ernst &Young Partner.  During the last seven years at Ernst &Young, he was the business leader for the life sciences practice in both the San Diego Office and for the Pacific Southwest Region. Mr. Mejia also participated on the Firm’s Global Advisory Committee for Life Sciences.  From 2003 through 2008, he was the lead partner for E&Y on multiple initial public offerings; several secondary offerings; private and public debt financings; as well as numerous mergers and acquisitions.

In September 2008, Mr. Mejia joined the Board of Directors of Dot Hill Systems Corporation, a publicly-held company with revenues of $200 million and where he served on the Audit Committee and Compensation Committee. Dot Hill was acquired in October 2015 by Seagate.

From 2010 to 2012, Mr. Mejia served on the Board of Directors and Chaired the Audit and Compliance Committees of Sharp Health, a $2.5 billion healthcare delivery system. He also participated on the Compensation Committee.   From 2003 through 2008, he served on the Board and Executive Committee of BIOCOM, the life sciences industry trade group in San Diego.  He has also served on the Board of Directors and is past president of the San Diego Venture Group and has served on Board of Directors of various charitable organizations in the communities in which he’s lived.

Mr. Mejia is a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelor of Science degree.
